God’s salvation is a love story. It is a story of a deity
that pursues His beloved and wins His beloved over. It is a story of an
unworthy lover who seeks anything but a good God. And at just the right time
and just the right place this Lover of our souls reaches out and says “Turn to
me and I will save you from all the the mistakes, missed opportunities,
neglects, evil deeds, everything that you have missed the mark on (sin).”
Why?
Love!
This hope will not disappoint us, because God’s love has
been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. For
while we were still helpless, at the right time, Christ died for the ungodly.
For rarely will someone die for a just person—though for a good person perhaps
someone might even dare to die. But God proves his own love for us in that
while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
